British Consumers: Quality and Economy in Food Shopping

According to an Ocado survey, British consumers are seeking a combination of quality and economy in food shopping. 70% aim for high-quality products alongside affordable staples.
The "High-Low shopping" phenomenon has been adopted by 63% of consumers, reaching 75% among Millennials. Britons are willing to invest in fresh foods such as meat (58%), fish (37%), and olive oil (35%).
At the same time, they save money on staples like pasta (42%) and rice (38%). Sales of pasta and rice at Ocado have increased significantly.
Dan Elton of Ocado Retail stated that customers are looking for quality and economy in one place.
