Ankara Suggests 'Solutions' for Lifting CAATSA Sanctions

Ankara is promoting the idea that Washington is re-evaluating CAATSA sanctions, seeking ways to lift them through exceptions and corrective actions. This contrasts with previous statements by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan about a 'difficult puzzle'.
According to a report in the pro-government Hurriyet newspaper, the US recognizes the cost of excluding Turkey from critical defense chains.
The newspaper reports that Trump had ordered the CAATSA issue to be resolved, considering it an obstacle to relations between the two countries. Turkey appears to be prepared for the next day, considering options such as a partial suspension of sanctions or special exceptions.
Hurriyet argues that even if the sanctions are not lifted, they can be stopped from being applied, following the model of the 'Caesar Sanctions' for Syria. It is noted that the issue is not only about the S-400s, but also engines, ammunition and delays in the defense industry.
The newspaper reports that Trump's environment recognizes that it was a strategic mistake to hold Turkish-American relations hostage due to CAATSA legislation.
