Concerns over Prolonged Impasse at Sinai Monastery

Concerns are growing about a potential prolonged crisis at the Sinai Monastery, following recent developments including the return of Archbishop Damian and the removal of monks who had opposed him.
The monks released a confidential memorandum outlining the reasons for the Archbishop's dismissal, alleging, among other things, his prolonged absence from the Monastery and financial mismanagement.
Athens is closely monitoring the developments but emphasizes that this is an internal matter for Egypt. Government Spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis stated that the government supports the Archbishop and the people of the Monastery, but intervention possibilities are limited.
Questions are being raised regarding the inaction of the Egyptian side, despite Archbishop Damian's appeals for the removal of the monks remaining outside the Monastery.
