Araghchi to US: 'Project Freedom' leads to 'Deadlock'

Iranian Foreign Minister warns of deadlock, rules out military solution, and calls for dialogue. Starmer condemns attacks on the UAE, while Saudi Arabia expresses concern about escalation.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated via X that developments in the Strait of Hormuz demonstrate that 'there is no military solution to a political crisis.' He warned the United States of the risk of getting bogged down in a 'stalemate' due to the actions of third parties, and made a similar recommendation to the United Arab Emirates, stressing that 'Project Freedom' is turning into 'Project Deadlock.'
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer condemned the Iranian attacks on the UAE. Saudi Arabia expressed strong concern about the developments, warning of the risk of military escalation in the Gulf and calling for de-escalation and restraint.
These attacks were the first since the ceasefire came into effect at the beginning of last month and coincided with the start of a US military operation aimed at restoring navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
