Australia: Decorated Veteran Arrested for War Crimes in Afghanistan

A decorated veteran of the Australian armed forces has been arrested in Sydney as part of an investigation into war crimes allegedly committed in Afghanistan.
The federal police did not disclose the identity of the 47-year-old, but media outlets, including ABC, report that it is Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith, decorated with the Victoria Cross.
Australian forces were deployed in Afghanistan from 2005 to 2016.
