BBC: The Ukrainian Regions Putin 'Wants'

According to the BBC, the issue of territorial concessions in Ukraine is central to discussions ahead of the Trump-Putin meeting. Steve Witkoff, the US President's special envoy, told CNN that Moscow had reportedly made 'certain concessions' regarding five regions.
These are the regions of Crimea, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson, which have been at the center of Russian ambitions since 2014. Crimea was annexed by Russia in 2014, while the other four in 2022, following referendums rejected internationally.
According to the Financial Times, Bloomberg, and Reuters, Putin proposed to Trump to 'freeze' military operations, on the condition that Zelensky hand over control of Donbas to Moscow. This would entail ceding territories not controlled by the Russian army.
Zelensky stated that Kyiv is ready to discuss territorial changes, but ruled out concessions of territories not already under Russian occupation.
