D. Oikonomou: "Sánchez did a U-turn"

Dimitris Oikonomou commented on Pedro Sánchez's recent decision to oppose the American-Israeli intervention in Iran. Oikonomou used the term "U-turn" to describe the Spanish Prime Minister's change of stance.
Specifically, Pedro Sánchez refused to allow the United States to use Spanish military bases for actions against Iran. At the same time, he ignored Donald Trump's threats of a possible trade embargo.
"Spain's position is the same as in Ukraine or Gaza. No to the violation of international law that protects us all. No to resolving conflicts with bombs. The Spanish position is summarized in three words: no to war," Sánchez said.
Sánchez's decision led to the withdrawal of American aircraft from Spanish bases and was welcomed by European officials and citizens.
