International Commission for Ukraine Reparations from Russia

Europe is establishing an international commission based in The Hague to provide reparations to Ukraine from Russia, due to the damages caused by the invasion and war crimes.
The reparations mechanism will be coordinated by the Council of Europe, based in Strasbourg. The "International Claims Commission for Ukraine" will examine the applications, incorporating data from the "Register of Damages," where approximately 80,000 applications have been submitted.
Dutch Foreign Minister David van Weel emphasized the importance of paying reparations to Ukrainians. The next step is the creation of a compensation fund, with the possible use of frozen Russian assets. EU leaders are expected to discuss the issue at a summit.
US President Donald Trump believes that an agreement to end the war is "closer than ever," while the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, stated that discussions on reparations should be part of the peace talks.
