EU: Statement on Israeli Changes to Land Registration in West Bank
Share on:

The European Union has issued a joint statement regarding Israel's changes to land registration and property acquisition procedures in the occupied West Bank. EU High Representative Kaja Kallas, and Commissioners Dubravka Šuica and Hadja Lahbib, expressed concern about the new measures.

The statement emphasizes that these measures are counterproductive and incompatible with international law, while also expressing fears that they will affect international efforts for peace in the region. The EU reaffirms its non-recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the territories occupied since 1967, in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.

The EU confirms its commitment to a sustainable peace based on the two-state solution, with Israel and an independent Palestinian state coexisting peacefully.

The EU will continue to work with international partners to implement the two-state solution.
