Greece and 24 Countries Urge Israel to Withdraw E1 Settlement Plan

The Foreign Ministers of 25 countries, including Greece, have issued a joint statement condemning Israel's plans to construct settlements in the E1 area, east of Jerusalem. They describe the plan as "unacceptable and a violation of international law."
In the joint statement, the Foreign Ministers call on Israel to withdraw the settlement plan, stressing that such actions "undermine security and fuel violence." The statement emphasizes that the E1 plan would make a two-state solution impossible, dividing a future Palestinian state and restricting Palestinian access to Jerusalem.
The Foreign Ministers of Australia, Belgium, France, Denmark, Greece, Estonia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, and Finland, as well as the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, co-signed the statement.
The statement calls on the Israeli government to end settlement construction, in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 2334, and to lift the economic restrictions it has imposed on the Palestinian Authority. Source: AΠΕ-ΜΠΕ-AFP
