Greece and Other Nations Condemn Israeli Settlements

Greece and 24 other countries condemn Israel's plans to construct settlements in the E1 area, east of Jerusalem. In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of these countries, as well as the EU High Representative for foreign policy, call for the immediate revocation of the plan.
The foreign ministers of Australia, Belgium, France, Denmark, Greece, Estonia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Ireland, Iceland, Spain, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Sweden, and Finland are signatories to the joint statement.
The statement emphasizes that the approval of the settlement plans is unacceptable and a violation of international law. The countries call on Israel to halt the E1 plan, as it undermines security, fuels violence, and distances the prospect of peace.
