Elon Musk Responds to Raid on X's Paris Office

Elon Musk is responding to the investigation by French authorities into the offices of the X platform in France, speaking of "arbitrary judicial actions with political motives."

In a post on the Global Government Affairs website, Musk accused the Paris prosecutor's office of seeking "illegal political goals" by publicizing the case. The investigation began after a complaint by a French MP regarding the platform's algorithms.

The Paris prosecutor's office, for its part, announced that the investigation aims to ensure the X platform's compliance with French law and was conducted in the presence of Europol. The investigations have been expanded and now also concern offenses such as complicity in the possession and trafficking of child pornography and sexually explicit deepfakes.

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the "French Response" account on the X platform, rejected Musk's claims, speaking of "political theater" and stressing that the investigations concern child pornography content.

Musk has been summoned to testify on April 20.
