Erdogan Calls for Revival of Istanbul Process

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, following a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Ankara, called for the revival of the Istanbul process, a dialogue framework between Moscow and Kyiv. He also urged Russia and the USA to actively participate in finding a solution to the Ukrainian crisis.
Erdogan emphasized that the Istanbul talks are an important step towards a diplomatic solution, especially as the effects of the war intensify and attacks on energy infrastructure increase. He reiterated Turkey's support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and cooperation with the Crimean Tatars.
Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to Turkey for its support and his hope to persuade Russia to return to diplomacy. He warned that Russia should not be able to start a new war against Ukraine or other countries.
Erdogan stated that Turkey is ready to discuss proposals with Russia for a ceasefire and peace, stressing the importance of US participation in the process.
