Erdogan Announces Delivery of First Altay Tank

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the delivery of the first Altay tank to the Turkish Armed Forces. The announcement was made during a speech commemorating the 102nd anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey.

Erdoğan stated that a total of 250 Altay tanks are planned for delivery within the next six years. In his speech, he also referenced the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974.

"Yesterday, we inaugurated a state-of-the-art factory in Kahramankazan that honors the Turkish defense industry," he said, emphasizing the successes of the Turkish defense industry and referring to the War of Independence.
