Europe Surpasses US in Military Aid to Ukraine

Europe has now surpassed the United States in providing military equipment to Ukraine, according to the Kiel Institute. In May and June, Europe increased its military aid, in contrast to the US.
European countries, including the United Kingdom, have committed a total of 80.5 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine by the end of June, while the US has committed 64.6 billion euros.
According to the institute, much of the European aid comes directly from the defense industry rather than existing weapon stockpiles. Taro Nishikawa, head of the Kiel Institute's "Ukraine Support Tracker," noted that European orders to the defense industry now exceed US orders.
In May and June, Europe allocated 10.5 billion euros in military aid, with Germany allocating 5 billion euros, Norway 1.5 billion euros, and Belgium 1.2 billion euros. The United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Denmark also allocated significant amounts.
Meanwhile, the United States approved large arms exports to Ukraine in May, but these purchases must be financed by Kyiv.
US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the US is finished funding the war in Ukraine.
