Hakan Fidan Insists on 'Two-State' Solution in Cyprus

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan reiterated his support for a two-state solution in Cyprus during an interview with A Haber television.
Fidan argued that this is the best structure to guarantee equality and avoid problems on both sides. He claimed that the presence of the Turkish army since 1974 has ensured the peaceful coexistence of Turks in the northern part and Greeks in the southern part.
He also mentioned that the international community does not accept the two-state solution due to the "propaganda of Greek Cypriots and Greeks." Furthermore, he commented on talks regarding Turkey's return to the F-35 fighter jet program and the obstacles in the European defense funding program SAFE due to objections from Greece and Cyprus.
Finally, regarding Gaza, Fidan stated that Turkey is ready to offer any assistance, including sending soldiers to an international stabilization force, provided the necessary conditions are met.
