G7: Macron Shifts Dates to Accommodate Trump's Schedule

France "gracefully changed the dates" of the upcoming G7 summit "to accommodate the agenda" of Donald Trump, a senior U.S. official stated.
According to Politico, the summit, originally scheduled for June 14-16, was moved to June 15-17. The U.S. President is hosting a mixed martial arts fight at the White House on June 14, his 80th birthday.
"Our partners felt it was essential for President Trump to attend the G7 summit. They gracefully changed the dates to accommodate the American president's schedule," said a senior White House official.
The Élysée commented that the summit date resulted from consultations with G7 partners.
The United States, Japan, Canada, France, Italy, Germany, and the United Kingdom comprise the G7.
