Geraperitis: Greece Actively Present in Libya, Cooperation on Migration

Foreign Minister Giorgos Geraperitis met with Marshal Haftar in Benghazi, discussing issues such as migration and the delimitation of maritime zones.

During the visit, the new Greek consulate in Benghazi was inaugurated. Mr. Geraperitis expressed Greece's intention to be actively present in Libya and stressed the need for cooperation on migration.

The strengthening of bilateral trade and the fight against irregular migration were also discussed, with Greece offering know-how and infrastructure.

Mr. Geraperitis underlined the importance of delimiting maritime zones between Greece and Libya, based on International Law.
