Germany: Terror Attack Warning for Turkey

The German Foreign Office has issued a travel advisory for German citizens visiting Turkey, warning of potential terror attacks, particularly during the New Year period.

According to the ministry, non-essential travel is discouraged to the border regions between Turkey and Iraq, and Turkey and Syria (Sanliurfa, Mardin, Sirnak, and Hakkari provinces).

The ministry emphasizes that a terrorist threat exists in all regions of Turkey, and that the period before New Year's Eve is particularly vulnerable.

Avoid large gatherings, squares, tourist attractions, and areas near government and military facilities.
