German FM Calls for European Response to Trump Tariffs

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has called for a European response to the new tariffs announced by US President Donald Trump.
In an interview with German public broadcaster ARD, Wadephul expressed reservations regarding the ratification of the EU-US trade agreement, emphasizing that the agreement has not yet been ratified by the European Parliament.
"If the US wants further economic measures, there must be a European response," he said, adding that an honest discussion within the Alliance is necessary.
Referring to Greenland, Wadephul stressed solidarity with Denmark and Greenland, saying that "Europeans stand in solidarity with Denmark and Greenland."
Finally, he assured that the US fully supports NATO and European defense.
