The German Foreign Minister has warned Israel of the risk of diplomatic isolation due to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and threats of annexation of the West Bank.

Johan Wadephul, before his departure for Israel, stated that the recent UN conference demonstrated Israel's increasing isolation. He referred to growing support for a two-state solution, including recognition of a Palestinian state without prior negotiations by some European countries.

Wadephul emphasized that Germany would react to unilateral actions by Israel and called for humanitarian aid access to the Gaza Strip. He also mentioned that three G7 countries (France, the United Kingdom, and Canada) have expressed their intention to recognize a Palestinian state in September.

The German FM will meet with Gideon Saar, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Isaac Herzog during his visit to Israel. Germany has already sent humanitarian aid to the region.
