Military Bases at Akrotiri and Souda Visible on Google Maps

Military bases in Akrotiri and Souda are visible via Google Maps, raising security concerns. While individuals are arrested for photographing military installations, the installations themselves are accessible through the application.
Following a drone attack on the British base in Akrotiri, it was revealed that the perpetrators used images from Google Maps. Justin Crump, a former British military officer, stated that the application made targeting the base easier.
Despite the revelation, no measures have been taken to blur the images of the bases. The British Ministry of Defence has not responded to inquiries on the matter.
In addition to Akrotiri, the bases in Souda, the military airport in Kastelli Heraklion, the airport of Pachi Megara, the 112 Combat Wing in Elefsina, and the airbase in Larissa are also visible on Google Maps. Users can distinguish aircraft positions, warehouses, and aircraft types.
Google is obliged to blur sensitive facilities at the request of states, but this has not been done for these specific bases. Examples such as the Maximos Mansion and 'Demokritos' were previously 'blurred' but are now visible.
