Google to Compensate Argentinian Man Photographed Nude on Street View

Google will compensate an Argentinian man after he was photographed nude in his backyard by Street View. The man, a police officer from Bragado, was vindicated by the court, which ruled that Google had 'invaded' his privacy.
The photo, taken in 2017, showed him in his backyard. Although his face was blurred, his house was recognizable, leading to teasing from neighbors and colleagues. Google initially argued that the backyard wall was 'too low' and that the man did not protect his privacy. However, the Court of Appeal ruled that the 2-meter-high wall was high enough.
Google Argentina and Google Inc. were ordered to pay 16 million pesos (approximately 11,000 euros) in compensation. The court acquitted the telecommunications company Cablevision SA and the news website El Censor, which had published the photo, ruling that their actions contributed to revealing Google's mistake.
