Washington Approves Air-to-Air Missile Sale to Finland

The U.S. has approved the sale of 405 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles and related equipment to Finland, in a deal estimated at $1 billion. Finland, a NATO member since 2023, shares a border with Russia.
The U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) stated that the sale will enhance Finland's defense capabilities and its interoperability with allied forces. The agreement is expected to be approved by the U.S. Congress.
This move follows Finland's decision to join NATO after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, abandoning its long-held neutral stance.
