Ambassador K. Sofianou Presents Credentials to Chinese President Xi Jinping

On January 16th, Chinese President Xi Jinping received the credentials of 18 new Ambassadors at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Among them was the Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to China, Koula Sofianou, who assumed her duties in a particularly important year, as 2026 marks 55 years of diplomatic relations between Cyprus and China.

The Ambassadors of Turkey, Austria, Slovakia, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, and Ghana also participated in the ceremony. After the ceremony, President Xi delivered a speech to the Ambassadors.
