Japan: Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba Resigns

Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba announced his resignation today after less than a year in office.
During his tenure, his party lost its absolute majority in both houses of parliament.
"I have decided to resign from my position as president of the Liberal Democratic Party," Shigeru Ishiba said, referring to the ruling party.
