US Shoots Down Iranian Drone Near Abraham Lincoln Aircraft Carrier

The United States military shot down an Iranian drone approaching the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea, according to a U.S. official.

The drone was shot down by a U.S. F-35 fighter jet.

Earlier, Iranian naval vessels approached an American tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, according to maritime security firm Vanguard Tech. Six small Revolutionary Guard boats approached the tanker, ordering the captain to stop, but the American tanker increased speed and continued on its course.

Meanwhile, Iran has requested that talks with the U.S. be held in Oman instead of Istanbul, without the participation of other countries, according to Axios.
