US Used $5.6 Billion Worth of Munitions in First Days of Iran War

According to a report submitted to congressional committees, the U.S. used $5.6 billion worth of munitions in the first two days of the war in Iran. Members of Congress are expressing concerns that the conflict will deplete American stockpiles at a time when the defense industry is already struggling to meet demand.
President Trump met Friday with executives from seven defense industries as the Pentagon seeks to replenish its supplies. The government has not publicly announced any estimate of the cost of the war, which began on February 28 with Israel.
Members of Congress are seeking more information on how this war may affect U.S. defense readiness. Many Senate and House aides say they expect the White House to soon submit a request to Congress for additional funding for the war in Iran. Some estimate the government will ask for $50 billion, while others believe that estimate is low.
