US: Suspect Arrested in 2012 Benghazi Consulate Attack

The United States has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with the 2012 attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi stated that Zubayr al-Bakoush has been extradited to the United States and will face charges of murder, arson, and terrorism.
Al-Bakoush landed at Andrews Air Force Base and is currently in custody. The attack, which took place on September 11, 2012, resulted in the deaths of four Americans. It was initially considered a spontaneous reaction to protests but was later recognized as a deliberate attack by extremists.
Two other individuals have already been arrested and convicted for their involvement in the attack. The Benghazi attack has become a symbol of instability and terrorism in the region and has led to investigations in the United States.
