US: Iran Talks Progress Despite Public Statements

The White House stated today that talks with Iran are ongoing and progressing, adding that Tehran's public statements differ from what they communicate to American officials privately.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said, "Despite all the public statements you hear from the regime and the false reports, the talks continue and are going well. What is said publicly is, of course, very different from what is communicated to us privately."
According to the White House, Iran has agreed to certain points during private talks, and Donald Trump wants to reach an agreement before the April 6 deadline.
U.S. diplomat Marco Rubio expressed optimism about working with elements within the Iranian government, stating that Washington has received positive messages privately. Rubio mentioned that there are "cracks" within the Iranian hierarchy, and the U.S. believes that figures with "the power to act" will take control.
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Marco Rubio stated that there are "messages and some direct discussions underway between some within Iran and the U.S.," adding that communication is mainly through third parties.
