Iran: Trump's Contradictory Statements on the War
Share on:

Donald Trump's statements regarding the war in Iran have presented a series of contradictions since the armed conflict began on February 28th.

Trump has expressed conflicting views on the duration of the war, potential negotiations, and the involvement of other countries in the Strait of Hormuz.

Initially, he stated that the war would last four weeks or less (March 1st), only to later declare that the war is "complete" (March 9th). Also, while initially open to talks with Iran (March 1st), he subsequently stated that there is no one to talk to (March 21st).

Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he initially encouraged the participation of other countries (March 16th), only to state a few days later that he does not need NATO's help (March 17th).

Victory will be declared "when he feels it in his bones" (March 13th), while he threatened to bomb Iranian power plants if they did not open the Strait of Hormuz (March 21st), only to eventually postpone the military strikes (March 23rd).
