Iran Rejects Trump's Peace Proposal, Sets Conditions

Iran has rejected a US proposal to end the war, setting conditions for a ceasefire. According to Iranian media, Tehran considers the demands in Trump's proposal to be "excessive."
A senior Iranian official told Reuters that Iran's initial response to the US proposal was not "positive," but Tehran is still considering it. The official emphasized that "Iran will not allow Trump to determine the timeline for the end of the war."
Tehran informed Washington via Pakistan that it would continue to defend itself, setting five key conditions to agree to end the conflict:
- Cessation of "attacks and assassinations"
- Creation of mechanisms to ensure that Iran will not be targeted again
- Clear guarantees for compensation payments
- End of hostilities on all fronts
- International recognition of its sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz
The developments come amid conflicting statements about whether negotiations are underway between the two countries.
