Iran has denied reports of a missile attack on the joint US-UK military base on Diego Garcia, calling them an "Israeli disinformation operation." Tehran rejects the accusations, while NATO and the UK remain cautious.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei denounced a "false flag operation" by Israel, following statements by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that the Alliance could not confirm claims of Iranian intercontinental ballistic missiles.

UK Defence Minister John Healey stated that two missiles were launched towards Diego Garcia, with one being intercepted. He noted that no action was required by the UK and operations continue as normal.

US media reported missile launches from Thursday to Friday, without hitting the base. Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the country has limited its missile range to under 2,000 kilometers.

The base on Diego Garcia hosts approximately 2,500 military personnel and has been used in various US operations.
