Iran Submits 'Fair' Proposal on Nuclear Program to Avert Sanctions
Share on:

Iran says it has submitted a 'fair and balanced' proposal regarding its nuclear program in order to prevent the reimposition of UN sanctions. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the proposal was presented to the E3 countries (United Kingdom, France, Germany) and the European Union.

Araghchi emphasized that the proposal is creative and addresses the real concerns of all parties. He warned that Iran cannot be the only responsible actor and that the implementation of the proposal can be done quickly to avoid a crisis.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that the actions of the Europeans are politically biased and that Iran is considering all options if diplomacy fails. The E3 countries are members of the 2015 JCPOA agreement, which limited Iranian nuclear activities in exchange for the lifting of sanctions.

The UN Security Council is expected to decide on the reimposition of sanctions against Iran.
