Iran Submits Proposal to Avoid UN Sanctions

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announced the submission of a "fair and balanced" proposal to European powers regarding Tehran's nuclear program. The aim is to prevent the reimposition of UN sanctions against the Islamic Republic.
Araghchi stated that the proposal was presented to the United Kingdom, France, and Germany (E3), as well as the European Union. He warned that Iran cannot be the only responsible party.
The statement comes ahead of the UN Security Council's decision on whether to reinstate sanctions. Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh stated that all options are on the table if diplomacy fails.
The E3 countries are members of the 2015 international agreement (JCPOA), which limited Iranian nuclear activities in exchange for the lifting of sanctions. The agreement aimed to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
