Iran Calls US Ceasefire Extension a 'Trick' Before New Attack

Iran has denounced the extension of the ceasefire by Donald Trump as a 'trick' before a new US-Israeli attack. According to Mahdi Mohammadi, advisor to Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the move aims to buy time before a new offensive.

Mohammadi argued via X that the ceasefire extension 'means nothing' and that the US blockade of Iranian ports is equivalent to bombings, demanding military retaliation.

Prior to Trump's announcement, a Reuters source in the Iranian political leadership stated that Iran is willing to engage in talks with Washington, provided that the US abandons its policy of pressure and threats.

The Iranian side also condemned the interception and seizure of two commercial ships by US forces, calling the action 'piracy at sea' and 'state terrorism'.
