Iranian Kurdish Groups Prepare for Military Operation Against Iran

Iranian Kurdish opposition groups based in northern Iraq are preparing for a potential military operation against Iran, according to the Associated Press. The US is reportedly asking Iraqi Kurds to provide military support.
According to Khalil Nadiri, an official with the Kurdistan Freedom Party (PAK), some forces have already moved near the border in the Sulaymaniyah region, awaiting orders.
Iraqi Kurdish leaders are expressing concern about direct military involvement, fearing retaliation from Iran, which has already targeted areas near the border with drone and missile attacks.
US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, stated that the country's goals are not focused on supporting Kurdish groups.
The Iraqi government has taken measures to restrict the movements of these groups, aiming to prevent a potential military intervention.
