Spain recalls ambassador from Tel Aviv for consultations

The Spanish Foreign Ministry announced the recall of the Spanish ambassador to Tel Aviv for consultations, following accusations by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar of an "anti-Semitic campaign" by Madrid. These accusations followed the announcement of measures by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez aimed at ending the "genocide in Gaza."
The Spanish Foreign Ministry emphasized that the recall is in response to the "defamatory accusations against Spain and the unacceptable measures targeting two members of the government." Gideon Sa'ar stated that the Spanish government is adopting a "hostile and anti-Israeli line." He also mentioned that the entry of Spanish Deputy Prime Minister Yolanda DĂaz into Israel will be prohibited.
Pedro Sánchez stated that his government will increase pressure on Israel, prohibiting the docking at Spanish ports and entry into Spanish airspace of ships and aircraft destined for Israel carrying weapons.
