Israel Warns of Increased Terror Threat to Travelers Abroad

The Israel National Security Council (NSC) has warned of an increased risk of terrorist attacks against Israeli travelers abroad, ahead of the High Holy Days. The warning focuses on threats from Iran, Hamas, and other extremist groups.
The NSC states that Iran is the main supporter of terrorism against Israelis and Jews worldwide, and that dozens of attacks have been prevented in the past year. Cyprus is in the category of "No threat to travel," while Greece is in the "Possible threat" category. Turkey is now in the "High threat level" category.
The High Holy Days begin with Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, followed by Yom Kippur and the Sukkot festival.
