Italian FM: "I Don't Think Trump Wants to Invade Greenland"

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani has expressed his belief that the American president does not wish to invade Greenland.

In statements to the public broadcaster Rai, Tajani mentioned that Marco Rubio, in conversation with Republican lawmakers, raised the possibility of purchasing Greenland.

Tajani added that Rubio will meet with the political leadership of Denmark to discuss the issue of Greenland.

"As Italy, together with other European countries, we have reminded that the fate of Greenland is decided by Greenland and Denmark. The Arctic is of fundamental importance for the security of all of us in the West. However, the independence, territorial integrity, and inviolability of the borders of Greenland remain as they are," said Antonio Tajani.
