Cambodia: 13 Killed in Clashes with Thailand

Cambodia reports that 13 people have been killed in clashes with Thailand. The hostilities began on Thursday due to a dispute over territorial sovereignty along their shared border.
According to the Ministry of Defense in Phnom Penh, the fatalities include five soldiers and eight civilians. Over 35,000 citizens have been forced to flee their homes.
Cambodia has requested an immediate and unconditional ceasefire with Thailand from the UN Security Council. The exchange of fire has escalated, involving fighter jets and tanks.
The dispute over territorial sovereignty in the border regions has triggered the most intense hostilities since 2011.
