The Ukrainian government has announced it needs an additional €5 billion to boost domestic weapons production. Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal stated that the funding is essential for manufacturing remote-controlled drones, unmanned interceptor aircraft, and long-range weapons.

Shmyhal appealed to allies to immediately allocate funds earmarked for next year, according to Interfax news agency. Simultaneously, the Chief of the General Staff of National Defence, Oleksandr Syrskyi, requested increased military aid, including air defense systems, long-range weapons, and armored vehicles.

The appeals were made at the 29th meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group (UDCG), attended by 50 countries supporting Ukraine.
