Colombian President Gustavo Petro has indicated an area where there are possibly survivors of U.S. strikes against vessels allegedly carrying narcotics. At least 110 people have been killed in such operations since September.

In a post on X, Petro shared a map with a point south of the Mexican state of Oaxaca, off the coast of Costa Rica, without specifying which of the bombings he was referring to. Petro stated that the area "appears to be exactly the zone where sailors fell into the sea" to save themselves from the bombings.

Petro added that it is known that "three people" were killed in the specific attack. His comments followed the U.S. armed forces' announcement regarding a strike against a "convoy" of three speedboats as part of a counter-narcotics operation.

SOUTHCOM did not specify the location of the strikes. Petro stated that the Colombian Navy is "willing to cooperate" in locating any survivors and called on "all governments in the area" to participate in the effort.

Petro also mentioned that many of the vessels attacked "were not even carrying illegal substances." Additionally, he referred to a recent report by Donald Trump regarding the destruction of a port facility in Venezuela, allegedly used for loading narcotics.
