EU Commission Proposes Suspending Funding for Israeli Startups

The European Commission has proposed suspending funding for Israeli startups due to the severe humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

The Commission states that despite Israel's announcements of a daily pause in fighting for humanitarian reasons and the fulfillment of some commitments, the situation in Gaza remains dire.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry called the proposal by European Commissioners to limit Israel's participation in the EU's "Horizon" research funding program "erroneous, regrettable, and unjustified."
