Cuban officials announced that an armed group of Cuban exiles, attempting to enter the country by speedboat from the US, carried over 13,000 bullets.

The Havana government stated that 10 Cuban nationals from the US opened fire on a coast guard vessel, resulting in Cuban forces returning fire, killing four and injuring six, who were arrested.

Officials from the Cuban Ministry of Interior presented the weaponry on a television program, along with images of the ships riddled with bullet holes.

Cuban authorities reported that the occupants were Cuban exiles, some of whom were on a list of suspected terrorists, who departed from the US intending to cause chaos and attack military units.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the US government would investigate the events independently.

Cuban authorities added that a drone, radios, knives, a generator, and symbols of anti-communist organizations were found on the speedboat.

Cuba described its response as "proportionate." Those arrested face charges of armed assault, illegal entry, terrorism, and arms trafficking.
