Kremlin: No Official Request for Assistance from Iran Received

The Kremlin states that it has not received an official request for assistance from Iran and does not intend to get involved in the conflict, despite close ties with Tehran. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia is acting in its own interests.

Mr. Peskov told state television that Russia cannot stop the war, adding that this is only possible by the side that started it. Russia and Iran have signed a strategic partnership, but Moscow has largely remained outside the conflict, limiting itself to support at the United Nations.
