Cyprus has sent 1,200 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza under the “Amalthea” plan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.

The shipment departed from Limassol port and falls under the UN-2720 and UNOPS mechanism, with World Central Kitchen as the implementing partner.

The cargo will be transshipped through Ashdod port, without additional checks, for distribution in Gaza. The aid includes food, especially for children's nutrition, from Cyprus (700 tons) and a donation from Malta (500 tons), as well as international organizations.

The Cypriot Ministry of Foreign Affairs thanked the states and organizations participating in the effort, emphasizing that Cyprus' infrastructure is available to the international community.
