US Sanctions European Officials Over Digital Regulations

The United States has imposed sanctions on five European officials who advocate for stricter regulation of digital services. The sanctions include a ban on entry, residence, and any activity within US territory.
Among those targeted is the French former European Commissioner for Internal Market, Thierry Breton.
The State Department claims that the actions of these individuals were intended to impose censorship on American interests.
France has strongly condemned the US sanctions. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot stated on the "X" platform that the people of Europe are free and sovereign and will not allow others to impose the rules governing their digital space.
Thierry Breton criticized the decision, accusing the Trump administration of a witch hunt.
