Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov condemned military operations by the US and Israel against Iran, calling the situation a war in the Middle East.

In a press conference, Lavrov stressed the need to stop attacks causing casualties, whether in Iran or other Gulf countries, highlighting the consequences of escalation.

Lavrov reiterated that according to the IAEA and US intelligence, Iran was not trying to produce nuclear weapons. He warned that attacks on Tehran could encourage the development of nuclear weapons by Iran or other countries.

Referring to possible sanctions against the US, Lavrov expressed doubts about their imposition. He also warned that Washington may seek control over other countries, such as Venezuela and Cuba.

Lavrov stressed the need for discussion regarding the role of the US in international relations and reiterated Putin's proposal for a summit of leaders of the 'five nuclear powers'.
