Lavrov Urges US to Abandon 'Language of Ultimatum'

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that he would like the US to abandon the 'language of ultimatums' to facilitate a return to negotiations. The statement was made during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi.

'The Russian side expressed hope that the efforts made by some countries to de-escalate tensions would bear fruit, which would be facilitated by the abandonment of ultimatums by the US and a return to diplomacy,' said Lavrov, according to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The two ministers also called for an end to 'illegal attacks' against civilian infrastructure, such as the Bushehr nuclear power plant, where dozens of Russians were working.
